Herbal Remedies

Ginger Root

Ginger has natural anti-inflammatory properties and can help soothe the digestive tract. You can incorporate ginger into your diet by drinking ginger tea, adding fresh ginger to meals, or taking ginger supplements.

Aloe Vera

Aloe vera is known for its soothing properties and may help reduce inflammation in the esophagus. Drinking a small amount of aloe vera juice before meals might help prevent GERD symptoms.

Slippery Elm Tea or Supplements

Slippery elm contains mucilage that coats and soothes the esophagus, relieving GERD symptoms.

Licorice Root

DGL (Deglycyrrhizinated Licorice): DGL is a supplement that may help increase mucus production and protect the lining of the stomach and esophagus from acid. It’s available in chewable tablets or capsules.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Some people find that drinking a small amount of diluted apple cider vinegar before meals helps digestion and reduces acid reflux. Be cautious, as this may only work for some.
